I want to tell you about a moment of recognition I had
while reading a free guide my friend sent me.
There's a section in it about creating digital
products — planners, checklists, short guides — and it says something along the
lines of: moms are unusually well-positioned for this because they already
understand the problems other moms have. And I stopped and thought: that's
actually true, isn't it.
I spend a significant portion of my mental energy
solving small, specific problems that don't have obvious solutions. What to
pack for a toddler's first flight. How to structure a morning so the whole
family actually leaves the house on time. What a realistic meal plan looks like
for a family where two people have different preferences and one person doesn't
eat anything that's touching anything else. I've figured these things out
through trial and error and accumulated research and conversations with other
moms. That knowledge lives in my head.
